Traffic Stop In Johnson City Leads To Gun And Drug Charges

A Johnson City man is jailed this morning on Aggravated Assault and a host of other charges following a report of a male threatening a female with a gun. Officers responded to the area of E. Unaka Ave and soon developed 29 year old Johnathan P. Johnson as the suspect. Investigators then located a vehicle that Johnson was a passenger in and conducted a stop. Police located a forty caliber handgun with an altered serial number making unidentifiable along with a large amount of marijuana and more than 16 grams of methamphetamine. Johnson is scheduled for arraignment Thursday in Washington County General Sessions Court and is being held in the Washington County Tennessee Detention Center.
