Marion youth wrestling coach arraigned on charges of sending illicit photos, texts to 14-year-old team member

A coach of a youth wrestling club based in Marion, Virginia was arraigned Thursday on charges of sending inappropriate text messages to a 14-year-old female club member.

Justin Troy Lefler, 44, is charged with one count of indecent liberties while in a custodial relationship and soliciting nude photos over the internet, according to Sgt. Tony McCormick of the Smyth County Sheriff’s Office.

McCormick said the child and a parent reported the photos and other illicit messages sent by Lefler on December 29. Lefler, who was in a supervisory role with the Brutal Wrestling Club, a traveling competition team, was arrested and charged earlier this week.

He is scheduled for another hearing in Juvenile Court on March 16 and is being held without bond.
