Hawkins County deputy escapes injury when Bristol woman tries to hit him with a vehicle

A Hawkins County deputy escaped injury when a suspect tried to run him over during a domestic call.
Allesha Helene Bourne, 38, of Bristol, Tennessee, is charged with one count of reckless endangerment, according to a report from the office of Sheriff Ronnie Lawson.
The officer was called to the 100 block of Caney Creek Road in Rogersville Sunday evening and encountered the couple having a verbal argument. While the deputy was speaking with the man the report says Bourne placed a vehicle in reverse and hit the accelerator.
Bourne, who had a strong odor of alcohol, was taken into custody and remains in the county jail awaiting her arraignment.
