TN lawmaker proposes bill to end early voting, switch from voting machines to paper ballots
A Tennessee state senator has introduced a bill which proposes drastic changes to the state’s election process.
Sen. Janice Bowling has filed SB1510, which seeks to completely end early voting and prohibit the use of voting machines.
The bill also seeks to replace the machines with watermarked paper ballots that would be handmarked by voters.
If passed, Tennessee would one of just a few states in the country without an early voting period and one of nearly 20 states to primarily offer hand marked paper ballots.
