Winter weather impacting delivery of COVID vaccine doses in Virginia
Winter storms impacting parts of the United States will cause an expected delay of shipment and delivery of COVID-19 vaccines to Virginia.
The Virginia Dept. of Health says distribution channels in the midwest and other parts of the country dealing with severe winter conditions are currently shut down, which will impact delivery of over 100,000 vaccine doses. Several vaccination events across the state have been postponed, which are set to be rescheduled once the winter system passes and shipment delays are fixed.
VDH expects vaccine shipments to return to normal once severe winter weather ends.
