Johnson City man facing charges after fiery crash in Carter County on Saturday
A Johnson City man is facing felony charges after he and a passenger crashed in a fiery accident over the weekend in Carter County.
A Tennessee Highway Patrol crash report said a 2006 Hyundai Sonata driven by Joshua Hutslar, 31, was traveling north on US 321 around mile marker one just after 10 a.m at an extremely high rate of speed.
The reported stated Hutslar lost control around a curve, left the roadway, then crossed the median and two southbound lanes before leaving the roadway again. The Hyundai then went down an embankment, struck a tree head on, and overturned, coming to rest on the driver’s side before it caught fire.
Hutslar, and passenger Jason Boyko, 23, of Johnson City, were both listed as injured in the wreck. THP has charged Hutslar with felony reckless endangerment, a fifth offense of driving on a suspended license, speeding, registration violation, and no insurance.
