Washington County, TN BOE to allow next director of schools to start April 5

School leaders in Washington County, TN have approved the contract of their next director of schools.

The board of education voted unanimously to allow Jerry Boyd to take over duties starting April 5, replacing outgoing director Dr. Bill Flanary, who initially announced his retirement earlier this year with plans to step away at the end of June. Flanary will officiate graduation ceremonies and will be able to assist as needed in the director transition.

Boyd’s experience in education includes working for the TN Dept. of Education along with previous director of schools experience in Putnam County, TN.
