UPDATE: Remains found in Unicoi County believed to be those of missing Jonesborough man

Unicoi County Sheriff Mike Hensley said vacationers in Erwin discovered the remains of what is believed to be a Washington County, Tennessee man missing since June 2nd.

The sheriff’s report said plates on the car matched those of Nicholas Todd, 33. The male inside was still strapped into his seat belt and it appeared the car crashed off of Highway 19 W in the Spivey Mountain area and landed in thick brush that concealed its location.

Todd had left his home in Jonesborough for his job in Greeneville but never reported in. An autopsy is being conducted along with proper identification of the body.
