Census data: Minimal growth in Northeast Tennessee
Kingsport and Johnson City are among the cities in Tennessee that saw their population increase according to the latest census numbers calculated by the UT Data Center placing them among the state’s top 20 cities.
Overall, cities, counties, and incorporated towns in Northeast Tennessee pale in comparison to thriving locales in Middle Tennessee including Nashville which leads in almost every category.
The center reported that Bristol, Tennessee saw the least amount of new residents in the Tri-Cities while localities like Jonesborough and Washington County as a whole grew over the ten-year span along with Greeneville, Rogersville, and Tusculum.
