Johnson City Animal Shelter pleads to public for help
The Johnson City Animal Shelter is asking for the public’s help once again. Facility managers say they are currently housing over 400 dogs and cats, and expect to have another 124 over the next three weeks. The shelter says they are caring for an increased number of animals who require veterinary treatment. Medical care for sick or injured animals is the shelter’s number one priority. They say their medical bill for the last two months is already over twenty-thousand dollars. The Johnson City Animal Shelter says they do not have budgeted funds for medical bills, and all monetary donations are greatly appreciated. Along with donations for medical bills, the shelter asks for donations of household items such as laundry and dish detergent, liquid hand soap, and disinfectant wipes. These items will go to maintaining the facility. All donations can be taken directly to the Washington County Animal Shelter.
