Johnson City Man Leads Police On Chase, Caught In Act Of Stealing Vehicle

A Johnson City man is jailed after being caught in the act of stealing a car then eluding police until he ran of gas on Interstate 26. Joshua A. Sherfey, was seen driving out of Med Tech Parkway by the couple who owned the stolen vehicle. Sherfey nearly hit the couple as he was fleeing police but was apprehended on Interstate 26. Sherfey is housed in the Washington County Tennessee Detention Center on a 42 thousand dollar bond, charged with two counts of reckless endangerment, evading police, theft of a motor vehicle and several other traffic related offenses.
