United Way of Southwest Virginia asks Youngkin administration to release Virginia Disaster Relief Funds for Hurley
The United Way of Southwest Virginia is requesting that Governor Youngkin release Virginia Disaster Relief Funds to support flood victims in the Hurley community. This request comes directly after FEMA’s announcement in which they denied individual assistance for Hurley citizens.
United Way of SWVA is the primary fiscal agent for the Hurley Long-Term Recovery Group. The organization’s CEO, Travis Staton says, “While today’s FEMA announcement is disappointing, please know United Way of SWVA is undeterred in our advocacy for the citizens of Hurley.”
