UPDATE: No criminal charges against police in Nashville standoff where Greene County native was killed
The policemen involved in a standoff on Interstate 65 in Nashville earlier this year where a man was shot multiple times will not be criminally charged following a TBI investigation.
Nine officers reportedly fired shots at 37-year-old Landon Estep in January after an incident that stopped traffic on the highway. Police reported Estep came at an officer with what was later identified as a boxcutter and was shot.
The widow of Estep, who was originally from Greene County, Tennessee, has filed a federal lawsuit accusing law enforcement members of using excessive force in connection to the shooting.
