Upper East Tennessee Human Development Agency posts December energy assistance outreach dates
The Upper East Tennessee Human Development Agency announced its December dates for the Low-Income Energy Assistance Program. UETHDA officials say the “LIHEAP” program keeps local families safe through initiatives that assist with energy costs.
Families who qualify will have a payment sent directly to their utility company and credited to their bill. Priority for this assistance is given to low-income, disabled, or elderly individuals; as well as houses with young children, veterans, or large households. Last year, UETHDA helped 11,730 households, providing more than $5 million in energy assistance to local families in need.
