Virginia Elections

Voters went to the polls Tuesday and have elected Washington County, Virginia Commonwealth’s Attorney Josh Cumbow to a third term. Incumbent Blake Andis has won a second term as sheriff of Washington County, Virginia with Allen Boyd defeating incumbent Buchanan County Sheriff John McClanahan and Russell County voters elected William “Bill” Watson to be sheriff.
Voters re-elected Republican Travis Hackworth to the Virginia Senate in District 5 and Delegate Will Morefield has won another term in the Virginia House of Delegates for District 43. Democrats maintained control of Virginia’s Senate and control of the state house will return to democrats as well.
