New no phone policy in place at David Crockett High
David Crockett High School students started the semester with a new cell phone policy. The change comes after staff said they were having distractions and disciplinary issues that were taking away from valuable instructional time. With the new policy, students are required to turn in their cell phones at the beginning of class and collect it when class is over. The previous policy required students to adhere to an out of site, out of mind policy that was deemed to not be working. Students are still allowed to have their phones with them and use them during passing periods, lunch, and before and after school. The School hopes to see an improvement in test scores with the new policy in place.
