Recognition for Steele Creek Park Nature Center

The Nature Center at Steele Creek Park in Bristol, Tennessee, has received a special recognition when it comes to meeting professional museum standards. It recently obtained Core Documents Verification, from the American Alliance of Museums. The documents outline the Nature Center’s mission statement, code of ethics, collections management policy and more. Achieving this recognition now moves the Nature Center closer towards receiving full accreditation. According to officials, the process toward full accreditation will begin in the coming weeks. If that goal is achieved, the Nature Center will be better positioned to collaborate in a variety of ways with other accredited museums nationwide.
