Bristol TN to ask state for ballpark funding
The City of Bristol, Tennessee is looking for new funding sources, including from the state, to help pay for a new stadium for the State Liners Appalachian League baseball team. The city has already allocated $5 million towards the project, that is estimated to cost close to $12 million. Officials say the city will ask the state for over $7 million to cover the cost. The new stadium project at Whitetop Creek Park was going to be part of a partnership with Boyd Sports, which owners of every other local Appalachian League team. Boyd Sports is no longer involved in the project. Talks are now underway for the State Liners to return to Boyce Cox Field for the upcoming Appalachian League season.
