Motorcycle crash fatality reported in Smyth County

Police say A motorcyclist is dead after a crash on Interstate 81 in Smyth County on Sunday. Virginia State Police reports a Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling southbound near mile marker 48 at 3:52 p.m. when it went off the left side of the road, hitting a guardrail. Police identified The driver of the motorcycle as 36 year old Carl L. Coe of Hillsville. The report says he was thrown from the motorcycle and died at the scene. The crash remains under investigation.
