Sullivan County School budget approved with 15% raises

The Sullivan County Commission and the Sullivan County School Board have reached an agreement regarding the 2024-25 school year budget, that will include a 15% pay raise for teachers and support staff. The school board met Wednesday for a called session to amend its budget, which was then presented to the commission on Thursday.  Friday morning, the commission met for a called budget meeting and passed with 19 voting in favor. With the budget now approved, Director of Sullivan County Schools, Dr. Chuck Carter, said they will now begin working towards adding the raise to paychecks.
