MD Carts expanding Johnson City production plant

A golf cart producer plans to inject millions for more space to create more machines at their Johnson City assembly center that just opened in March.

A city report said MD Carts and parent company LPI Incorporated will construct an addition to their current location off Eddie Williams Road on 750,000 square feet they purchased.

Overall, it’s a $14 million investment and the possible creation of 225 new jobs over five years. The carts range from basic to luxury models and they ship their machines to 80 retail centers in the US.
