GEA customers to see higher electric bills in October
Greeneville Energy Authority customers can expect their electric bill to be a little higher, starting in October. The Tennessee Valley Authority announced recently a base rate increase would take effect October 1. For most customers, that increase represents an average of $4.35 on each bill. Greeneville Energy Authority said its customers would see a separate 1.5% increase on their electric bills, averaging about $2.36 more. Both increases leaves Greeneville Energy Authority customers paying nearly $7 more, per bill. The necessity of the increases was attributed to the rising cost of materials and supplies. Both increases take effect October 1, 2024.
