JCPD arrest man for vehicular assault after hit and run

The Johnson City Police Department arrested a man Thursday after a vehicular assault investigation. 47 year old, Francisco Vasquez, was arrested and charged with vehicular assault and leaving the scene of an accident with injuries. The crash occurred on West Market Street near Lamons Lane around 9:40 p.m. The person hit in the accident was taken to an area hospital with significant injuries. According to the JCPD, Vasquez admitted in an interview with officers to driving the vehicle that hit the pedestrian and then fleeing. Vasquez was transported to the Washington County Detention Center.
