Chairman of Smyth County School Board resigns

The vice chairman of the Smyth County School Board has resigned from his position after he was arrested in August on charges of sexual exploitation. Todd Williams was arrested at his home on August 23rd. The U.S. Department of Justice announced Williams had been the focus of an investigation after allegedly spending more than $10,000 between May 2022 and January 2024 for nude images and explicit videos from juveniles across the country.
