Vandals deface, destroy Harris Walz campaign signs in Sullivan County
Two people face criminal charges related to a series of vandalism incidents reported by the Sullivan County Democratic Party.
A report from the agency said the cases all involved signs for the Kamala Harris Tim Walz campaign. The items were either shredded, doused with spray paint, or had flags draped over top of them.
The investigation continues for a phone call made to Democratic headquarters last month where the caller said the presidential candidates should have their heads carried by a horse and mounted on a pike. A Bristol, Tennessee policeman was able to call the individual back, according to the report, and warned them of potential harassment charges.
The statement called for Sullivan County supervisors and the locality’s Republican Party to publicly denounce the criminal acts.
