Additional VA counties now have FEMA assistance available
The Federal Emergency Management Agency announced that assistance is now available for six additional counties and one city in Virginia. FEMA says residents of Russell, Wise, Bedford, Bland, Carroll, and Pittsylvania Counties, as well as the city of Radford, can now apply for assistance under the Individual Assistance Program. Counties previously approved for the assistance were Washington County, along with Giles, Grayson, Montgomery, Pulaski, Smyth, Tazewell, and Wythe Counties, and the city of Galax, and they all remain eligible. FEMA officials say to apply for assistance visit DisasterAssistance.gov, call 800-621-3362, or residents can visit a Disaster Recovery Center like the one set up in Damascus.
