Bluff City appoints interim town manager after resignation
Town leaders in Bluff City say weeks of conflict between former Mayor and Town Manager Jeff Broyles helped spark his resignation late Wednesday evening. The Board of Mayor and Alderman appointed resident and former naval officer Michelle Roberts as interim town manager on October 9th. That forced Jeff Broyles out of his position as town manager. Broyles then announced his resignation as Mayor just hours later. Town leaders in Bluff City say weeks of conflict with Broyles helped to lead to the decision. Roberts says the complaints from citizens and town employees were “voluminous, and they were widespread.“ Per the town charter, Vice Mayor Carol Keith will serve the remainder of Broyles’ term as mayor.
