Three finalists selected for JC Schools superintendent

Three finalists for superintendent of Johnson City Schools will be interviewed next week. A Johnson City Schools spokesperson said the Tennessee School Board Association screened the 21 people who applied for the job and recommended the top three. Those chosen are Dr. Josh Carter who is Principal of Science Hill High School in Johnson City, Dr. Corey Gardenhour, Principal of Ross N. Robinson Middle School in Kingsport and Dr. Erin Slater whose job is the Superintendent of Fort Madison Community School District. Interviews for the candidates are scheduled Monday – Wednesday next week. The board plans to meet on Thursday to select a new superintendent. That person will replace Steve Barnett, who announced his departure last year.
