Kickback Jack’s restaurant chain facing lawsuit

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission is inviting male job applicants not hired by Kickback Jack’s restaurants in Tennessee to contact the federal agency regarding a sex discrimination lawsuit. In September, the commission filed a lawsuit in federal court against Kickback Jack’s and the companies that own the chain. The lawsuit claims that the restaurants have failed to hire male applicants for non-managerial front-of-house positions since December 2019 and that violates federal civil rights laws. Male applicants who applied for those positions at any Kickback Jack’s restaurants in Tennessee but were either not hired or were hired for a different position may be eligible to participate in this lawsuit. The discrimination case also includes the restaurant chain’s North Carolina and Virginia restaurants. Kickback Jack’s has a location in Johnson City and just recently announced a new location would be coming to the Pinnacle retail area in Bristol.
