Woman Arrested by Johnson City Police for Assault and Robbery
The Johnson City Police Department arrested a woman on Sunday after she allegedly broke broke into another woman’s apartemnt, robbed her and then assaulted one of her neighbors.
38-year-old Crystal Chatman is charged with aggravated burglary, aggravated kidnapping, aggravated assault, simple assault and interference with Emergency Calls.
According to the JCPD, Chatman forced her way into the female victim’s residence. She tried to call 911 but Chatman broke her phone. She then blocked all exits and threatened the woman with a knife.
The victim was able to escape the residence. Her neighbors attempted to intervene on her behalf, resulting in one of them being assaulted by Chatman.
Chatman was arrested and taken to the Washington County Detenetion Center where she is being held on a $50,000 bond.
