TennCare Bill Under Consideration Would Require Some To Work
Certain able bodied TennCare recipients will be required to spend 20 hours a week working, volunteering or attending school if a bill under consideration in Nashville is approved by the legislature. A Republican led Tennessee House passed the legislation and Governor Bill Haslam says he will sign it if the Senate gives its approval to the measure. Parents and caretakers of children under the age of six would be affected if the bill becomes law. Democrats say the measure would make it harder for poor mothers to gain access to health care.
