Twelve Killed On Virginia Highways During Extended Holiday Travel Period
Twelve drivers and passengers were killed in Virginia during the extended holiday travel period, including one in southwest Virginia in Wise County. Preliminary reports show traffic crashes in the Commonwealth claimed nine drivers, two passengers and a motorcyclist. Virginia State Police say alcohol was a factor in at least two of the fatal crashes…Four of those killed were not wearing seat belts. Last year 14 people were killed in Virginia during the Thanksgiving holiday period.
