Virginia Legislatures to Consider Proposal of Casino & Resort in Bristol, VA
The Virginia General Assembly reconvenes today in Richmond and Bristol, Virginia residents are keeping their eye on a piece of legislative agenda that has become a hot topic of discussion in the area.
Senator Bill Carrico and 5th District delegate Israel O’Quinn are co-sponsoring a bill, and if approved, would create a referendum vote in the November election to allow Bristol voters to vote yes or no on if they want a casino and resort in the city.
A group of investors are ready to move forward with building a casino and resort in the former Bristol Mall, but need approval from the General Assembly and a referendum before the proposal could become reality.
