Casino Style Gambling Bill Passes Critical Test In Legislative Committee
Proponents of casino style gambling in Bristol Virginia saw some positive movement Monday on a bill that could lead to legalized gambling in the old Bristol Mall location. Legislation supporting the proposal advanced in the state legislature Monday. The bill cleared the General Laws and Technology Committee by a nine to three vote. Several other gambling bills have died at this stage of the legislative process. If approved the bill would allow for a referendum vote by the citizens of Bristol and will give them the final say as to whether legalized gambling makes a home in Bristol.
