Flooding Wrecks Havoc Across Region
Heavy rain Wednesday night into Thursday has caused serious flooding across northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia, wrecking havoc on the region.
First responders had to rescue a father and son in Greene County after flood waters swept away their vehicle.
Rescuers also came to the aid of a Hawkins County woman stuck in her truck in flood waters.
Many rural roads around the region are flooded and impassable at this time.
2018 was one of the wettest years on record and so far that trend has continued into 2019.
Remember if you encounter flood waters avoid them. They often times contain pathogens that can make people sick.
And as always when you encounter a flooded roadway while driving turnaround and don’t drown.
